Change is hard. Even change you want and design.
My recent relocation to west coast has been in the works for years. It was an intentional move --- and it's still been a challenging transition.
The last few weeks have reminded me how important structure and routine can be. It's easy to forget the importance of the little things throughout the day. In particular, I’ve noticed how my morning routine (or lack of one) sets the tone for the rest of the day. For example, my run this morning gave me some much needed space and perspective.
If you want to set yourself up for a better day, ask yourself the following:
- What three things can you do in the morning to fill yourself up with positive energy?
- How will you hold yourself accountable? (hint: use a spread sheet and ask a colleague to keep you honest)
- What’s the cost of not improving your approach to the morning? (example - what opportunity will you miss?)
